Massages
No matter what the syle, massage is one of the most popular holistic treatments. It is a satisfying and profoundly effective way of relieving aches and pains and treating injuries. The results are often noticable instantly and the treatment can bring about structural changes which mean lasting relief and not just temporary benefits. Whichever massage you choose, rest assured it will be personally tailored to suit your needs on the day.
Deep Tissue / Remedial Massage
This massage is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Concentrating on these problematic areas, the treatment involves strong massage movements to release tension in the soft tissue to relieve pain and restore normal movement.
"No pain, no gain!"
Many people mistakenly believe that the deeper the pressure, the more painful the treatment - and the more painful the treatment the more effective it will be. In fact it is important for the client not to be caused discomfort above their own threshold as this would be counter-productive to the massage. This massage combines a deep, sustained pressure with sensitivity and awareness from the therapist to encourage muscles to relax. This way we can achieve effective release with the minimum of discomfort. The massage should be a "dialogue" between the therapist and the client's body. The body is persuaded to let go, not battered into submission!
An intense massage geared to alleviate and correct postural and muscular problems, focusing on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue.
Hot Stones Massage
This massage has to be one of the most enjoyable and relaxing therapeutic massages available. For hundreds of years, hot stone massage has been used by many different cultures and the same techniques are still applied today for a wonderfully nurturing massage designed to work on muscle tension at the deepest level.
During the hot stone massage treatment, smooth, basalt rocks that have been heated in water are used in two ways; some stones are wrapped in towels and placed on specific energy centres, known as chakras, along the body to align and re-balance the body’s natural energy flow, whilst other stones are used by the therapist to perform the body massage.
The heat of the stones penetrates deep into the muscle tissue allowing the muscles to relax much quicker than in a standard body massage, easing muscle tension and revitalising the muscle tissue by increasing blood circulation.
The deep relaxation and increased blood flow to the areas being worked not only accelerates any healing processes but also creates a state of deep mental relaxation. This is a truly luxurious massage for mind, body and spirit.
Deep Heat Massage
The definitive massage! It is a dynamic, powerful treatment that works deep into the muscles using the stones, hands, forearms and elbows to actively massage the tissues. The heat ensures that the muscles release and relax, making it possible for deeper manipulation of the affected areas, enabling the equivalent of a remedial or sports massage treatment with added relaxation. Once you've tried this treatment, you won't want anything else!

Thai Massage
Traditional Thai Massage is a 2500-year-old technique for relaxing the body and quietening the mind. The basic form of the massage is performed fully clothed (no oils are used) on a mat on the floor. The technique involves putting gentle but firm pressure on the body with the palms and thumbs, as well as relaxing stretching of the limbs and back. This massage is usually performed in a quiet meditative atmosphere, encouraging the client to let go of physical and emotional restrictions. Designed to increase flexibility, decrease stress and balance the mind, it facilitates a sense of unity, wholeness and equilibrium.
Aromatherapy Massage
As a holistic treatment, aromatherapy can have a profound effect on physical and psychological well-being. Scent is the most enduring of our senses and has the power to transform our emotions, and heal our bodies. The oils are specifically blended for the client’s requirements on the day.
