About Me
Hello, my name is Nikki and I have been a holistic therapist since last century! Well, I completed my first training course in Holistic Therapies in 1999. It does seem like a long time ago now...
Following a life-long fascination with natural healing practices, I found the course something of a revelation - after years spent in Education, I was finally learning something that I felt passionate and excited about! From here my enthusiasm grew, leading me to continue my studies through more advanced therapy courses. Finally it seemed an obvious step to give up my job as a teacher of foreign languages and launch my Holistic Therapist career.
15 years and many qualifications later, My current practice is a culmination of my professional and personal journey. Over the years I have worked with a huge variety of clients - from people with sports injuries, to those with severe disabilities. This diversity has given me great experience in successfully treating a wide range of health conditions. I carry out my unique, integrated body-work and energy healing from my tranquil treatment room in Old Trafford, or at The Buddha Beauty Company in Chorlton, Manchester.
I believe passionately in excellent standards of training and education for practitioners. In 2008, as a Holistic Therapies Lecturer and NVQ Assesor, I set up the Holistic Therapy Department at Aqua Rosa training school in Stockport. And recently I took over the management of Orchid Massage Academy in Rochdale. As well as teaching Diploma courses here, I also work as an in-house Spa trainer.
For your peace of mind, I am registered with The Federation of Holistic Therapists. This is a professional body, governing the safe & effective practice of Holistic & Complementary therapies. So you can be rest assured that you are in safe and professional hands when you visit.
I have personally found holistic and alternative therapies invaluable in my own life and still get regular treatments. After all, how do you go about healing others if you are not centred and balanced yourself?
My Philosophy/ Your Treatment
I deeply believe that every client has control of their own health and well-being. So my aim as a therapist is really to help initiate your own healing process.
To do this, I use an intuitive approach to my therapies and I often combine treatments. A remedial massage may include aspects of Thai, Deep Tissue, Swedish or No Hands Massage. I also like to mix Energy Healing, Reflexology and Fascial-Release with other treatments. If I think it will work for you, then I will apply it. I call this "integrated body-work". My instinct for what will benefit the client the most, provides a bespoke therapy session, unique to each person.
